Hon. Habib Iddrisu “Soyalana” Launches Major Educational Fund to Combat School Dropouts in Tolon

Tolon MP Hon. Habib Iddrisu “Soyalana” disburses GH¢320,000 to 229 brilliant but needy students, reaffirming his commitment to erase financial barriers to education in his constituency.

The Member of Parliament for Tolon, Hon. Habib Iddrisu “Soyalana,” has powerfully reaffirmed his commitment to eliminating school dropouts in his constituency, declaring financial hardship will no longer be a barrier to education for promising students.

The First Deputy Majority Chief Whip gave this assurance at the disbursement ceremony of the SoyaLana Educational Fund, held at the Tolon Community Centre. The initiative, a personal project of the MP, is designed to support brilliant but needy learners, ensuring they can pursue their academic dreams without financial impediments.

Expressing deep concern over the trend, Hon. Iddrisu lamented the heartbreaking reality of young people with high academic potential being forced to abandon their education due to economic challenges.

“Many young men and women have dropped out of school not because they are not performing well, but because they do not have the financial ability. Even though I cannot pay for everything for each student, I am ever ready to help in my own small way,” he stressed.

The MP emphasized that education remains the most reliable pathway to breaking the cycle of poverty and securing a brighter future for Tolon. He pledged to continue investing his energy and resources to ensure financial challenges do not stand in the way of his constituents’ education.

In a significant demonstration of this commitment, the SoyaLana Educational Fund disbursed a total of GH¢320,000 to 229 carefully selected students at the event. The beneficiaries, identified as brilliant but needy, are to use the support to cover essential educational expenses such as tuition fees, textbooks, and other learning materials.

Hon. Habib Iddrisu noted that this fund is a core part of his long-term vision to improve access to quality education, nurture homegrown talent, and empower the youth of Tolon to become meaningful contributors to national development. Through this sustained intervention, the “Path Owner” is indeed clearing the way for a more educated and prosperous constituency.
